Does ‘Harappa, mohenjo daro’ ring a bell?

Harappa, curse of the blood river by vineet bajpai is full of our school history with a fiction twist.. but a mighty twist to that.. This fusion was so convincing that at times i got confused as to which was the part i had actually studied back in school and which part was the author’s imagination..

It did felt a bit clichéd at times,
Just like a dhamakedaar plot dies with a poor story telling, a ‘what nonsense’ type of story could be made to believe with the power of narration. Powerful Plot, Intense characters coupled with a dhinchak narration is a reader’s paradise, that is exactly what i yearn for, as a reader and a book like this quenches my thirst for engrossing plots to some extent. .
Though It was dragging at times and sometimes repetitive too.

Flaws aside, It all depends on the book if it could manage to create an impact or not and it surely does when a story stays with you and you don’t even remember the flaws anymore. when you are looking forward to a sequel the book has successfully made you a certified addict.. i hope ‘pralay’ makes its mark too.
